Samsung flat-screen TVs are specifically designed so they can either be mounted onto the wall or onto a stand. There are pros and cons to both methods but for this post, we focus on how you can have it installed onto a stand.
In this post, we will provide step-by-step instructions on how you can safely and easily mount a Samsung TV onto a stand. We will go over methods for both rectangular stands as well as oval stands. So without further ado, let’s get started.
Once you have all these supplies gathered, you can get started with mounting the TV onto a stand.
For the purposes of this post, we are assuming that you are mounting your Samsung TV onto a stand that is supplied with the TV.
We can’t write a general post for all mounting stands since the process will vary greatly depending on the manufacturer.
You get either a rectangular stand or an oval stand with the Samsung flat-screen TV.
To mount it onto the rectangular stand, just follow these steps:
Step 1: First, decide on a location for where you want the TV and its stand to be placed.
It should ideally be somewhere that’s near a power outlet. It should also be positioned in a way so that you can comfortably watch it.
Once you’ve decided on a location, you should go ahead and place the base of the stand at that spot.
Step 2: After placing the base of the stand at the appropriate position, go ahead and place the guide stand on top of the placeholder square piece that is on the stand base.
The raised square section of the stand is the piece that will attach to the guide stand.
Make sure to place the guide stand in a way so that the raised part of it faces the back of the base.
Also, the guide stands screw holes should align with the raised square section holes.
Step 3: Insert the screws into the four vertical holes of the guide stand and use a screwdriver to tighten them completely.
Next, insert the fifth screw into the horizontal hole at the back of the guide stand and tighten it. This is what will connect the guide stand completely to the raised square section.
Be careful not to over-tighten at this stage.
If you apply too much force, you can damage the mounting stand beyond repair.
Step 4: Take your Samsung flat-screen TV and slide it onto the guide stand gently.
Please note that the back section of the guide stand will slide appropriately into the bottom section of your Samsung TV.
Step 5: Check to see whether the mounting holes for the TV align appropriately with the screw holes of the guide stand or not.
Adjust the TV’s position until they’re fully aligned.
Step 6: Insert two screws into the upper holes of the TV and two screws into the lower holes.
Tighten them carefully with a screwdriver.
Again, you must be careful at this stage not to over-tighten the screws. If you tighten them too much, you will damage your TV as well as the mounting stand.
Step 7: Once the holes have been tightened, shake the TV slightly to check for stability.
If it does not wobble, you’re good to go. However, if it wobbles, then you must check all of the screws again and tighten any one of them that’s loose.
Step 1: Lay a thick, soft towel or blanket onto a flat, table surface and place your Samsung TV on it with its screen facing up.
Step 2: Place the mounting stand right near the edge of the table. You want to position it so that you can easily slide the TV into the mounting stand.
Step 3: Move the TV slowly over the edge of the table and slide it gently into the mounting stand.
Depending on the model, you may hear a click or a similar sound that indicates the TV has been fully inserted into the stand.
Step 4: Insect the bottom of the stand to look for three screw holes.
Step 5: Once you have identified the appropriate three screw holes, insert screws into each of them and use a screwdriver to tighten them.
Be careful not to over tighten because you can pretty much ruin your mounting stand as well as your TV if you apply too much force.
Important note: The three screw holes for oval stands that come with Samsung TVs are typically located near the center of the bottom of the stand.
That’s where you want to look if you’re having trouble finding the screw holes.
Step 6: Once the screws have been properly tightened, go ahead and check its stability by holding the TV and shaking it slightly.
If it refuses to budge , that means that all the screws have been properly tightened and you’re good to go.
However, if it wobbles , then that means you have to go back and check what’s wrong. Tighten any screws that are loose and it should be ready.
That’s pretty much all there is to it to mounting a Samsung TV onto a mounting stand.
As you can see, it’s actually much easier to mount it on a stand than on the wall since you don’t have to drill holes or make any measurements.
